About AGID |

|
AGID – Turkish Lighting Luminaires Manufacturers Association is established in 1997 by 19 manufacturing companies of lighting fixtures and components, with the intention of realizing the following essential goals:
- To engender consciousness about the identity of the private sector,
- To advance individual and collective relationships between the representatives in the industry,
- To enhance theoretical/academic interactions through common efforts and agreements,
- To complete the process of conforming to international standards,
- To ensure the proper representation of Turkish manufacturing companies in the international marketplace,
- To protect the consumer rights.
AGID firmly defends the notion of tackling problems not as separate companies but as a whole, and with a common synergy, striving to uphold fair competition rules and regulations within the lighting industry. Only by doing so, AGID believes the collective cooperation would thrive and the personal relations between the member companies would strengthen.
With respect to the aforementioned objectives, we can summarize the accomplished projects of AGID as thus:
- Common projects are developed together with various academic and entrepreneurial organizations, strengthening relationships and allowing AGID members to render their improvements continuous and successful.
- Together with the Turkish National Committee of Illumination, AGID has been organizing the Interlight Istanbul Fair since 2002; it has now grown to 6,000 square meters. Moreover, under the organizational leadership of AGID, several participations in international expositions have increasingly been occurring.
- Brochures introducing AGID members and the Turkish Lighting Magazine are published and distributed locally, as well as internationally, hence helping to promote the members of AGID on the international market.
- The web site of AGID is renewed, to make it vibrant, more comprehensive and more resourceful. The most important feature of the new web site is its capability to connect potential customers to AGID members based on their product ranges – and do so effortlessly.
- To strengthen business opportunities for AGID members in international markets, acquisition of various certificates had been organized.
- A common declaration, in which the essential principles of AGID and its members are explained, written collectively by AGID members and intended to engender trust in end-users, has been published in industrial magazines.
- An “e-bulletin” informing of developments and innovations in the sector, has begun being sent periodically to local e-mail addresses for now.
- An e-document, introducing our members in a digital medium has been prepared, in three languages, for distribution at national and international fairs.
Demonstrating its efforts in line with the undertaken mission –its basic aims and purposes – AGID has rapidly succeeded in representing an important part of the Turkish Lighting Sector.
Last but not least, we want you to understand that AGID is always ready to assist you, should you ever want to gather information about the Turkish Lighting Sector and/or develop business relationships with AGID members and other national institutions.
